One of my favourite blogs to read are monthly favourites posts. So, I thought I’d do my very own version. Each month, I’m going to try and keep a note of all of the things I’ve enjoyed and share them with you. So, here goes for July – there seem to be a good few beauty products which is actually quite unusual for me!
One of the things that I love doing at the moment is treating myself to a bunch of flowers. It’s one of my guilty pleasures and they really do cheer me up. This month I’ve been absolutely loving sunflowers. They are so cheery and just make me smile every time I look at them. I’ve been picking mine up when I’ve been doing my weekly shop at Aldi for just £3.50. What a bargain! If you don’t already, treat yourself when you do your supermarket shop – you’re worth it.
I love me a candle and I was so excited to find this amazing thing of beauty in Matalan. I’ve been lusting after a candle with one of these special reed type wicks for ages. Everywhere I look, they cost close to £30. But when I came across this one in Matalan for just £6, I had to buy it. Not only do they have some delicious scents, the wick is just something else. It’s kind of a rectangular reed which makes a crackling sound when you burn it and is so comforting. I will definitely be adding to my collection and think they will be be even more amazing for making a room cosy in winter. They’d also make an amazing gift.
I couldn’t not include Brummy Mummy’s vlog in my July favourites. I totally LOVE watching Emma’s YouTube videos and can’t get enough of them. Not only does Emma make me laugh out loud, she just keeps Motherhood so real and is totally relatable. Honestly, if you haven’t watched Emma’s Mumtouring Vlog you just have to check it out, I laughed until I cried! Emma is one of those ladies who I’d love to have in my circle of friends – she loves life and is just a legend in my eyes! Please do check out Emma’s channel, I promise you your life will be richer for it.
This amazing product was introduced to me by one of the lovely ladies in store at the Bodyshop. I’m so glad she did, as I absolutely LOVE it. You basically just need such a very small amount of the serum which you dot around your face, then rub into your skin in a circular motion. The serum basically kind of exfoliates your face and you are left with small clumps of dead skin – sounds gross I know! I then wipe my face with a warm facecloth to remove all of the residue and my skin feels so fresh afterwards! It’s recommended that you use it just once a week, which works well if you’re like me and don’t have tons of time. I’d definitely recommend you give it a go… I’d love to hear what you think.
I’m not really a fan of fake tanning at all. I’ve tried it in the past and it’s always left me streaky and quite frankly hasn’t worked at all well. When I saw this moisturising lotion on sale in Superdrug, I thought I’d give it a go. It’s basically a moisturiser with a hint of fake tan in the formula. I use it around twice a week after getting out of the shower. I definitely don’t look fake tanned, but do have a more healthy glow. After using it each time, I’ve never been left with any streaks either. The only thing I would say is it does sightly smell of fake tan which is never very pleasant, rather than a moisturiser. But I’m definitely feeling more sun kissed, which is a win in my eyes.
This shower milk smells so good! The scent is both creamy and sweet all at once – delicious enough to eat! I am totally enjoying using this product each time I shower. There are quite a few different scents in the range and think I’m going to pop down to Boots whilst they’re on offer for just £1 and stock up. There are lots of different scents in the range, which all looked lovely and I can’t wait to give them a try.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, I’d love to hear what you think and if you’re going to be checking out any of my favourites for yourself. My list for August is already being compiled, I think I’m going to enjoy writing these posts – it’s the perfect excuse to shop! If you’ve any recommendations for things I should try to be included do let me know:-)
